Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced, passionate and patient SEND Tutor to work with a KS3 female student with sensory needs. The young person is only just below expected levels due to missing education.
Within this role, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons as a means of alternate education. One of your aims will be to support and re-engage a pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine, continue their educational development and aid their return to school. As part of the role, you may aid the young person in accessing the community and learning life skills. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic and understanding.
The tuition is replacing school for the young person, taking place during school hours. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.
Information about the role:
Ongoing placement, possiby extending into next academic year
6 hours per week with the possibility of extending depending on engagement of the YP
GBP25 - GBP30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
desired candidate will have:
Experience working with SEN students on a 1:1 or small group basis
QTS is desirable but not essential
Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
Have experience working with students with differing needs including those with sensory needs
we need from you:
Hold a right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application
Provide references to cover the last two years of employment
The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
